UNICEF Highlights the Importance of Education over Child Marriage

A powerful video produced by UNICEF compares the lives of girls in Chad who are forced into marriage and those who are able to attend school. UNICEF has found that in Chad, girls are more likely to die in childbirth than they are to attend primary school. 7 out of 10 girls in Chad are also married before the age of 18. Child marriage deprives girls of happiness, childhood, bodily autonomy, safety, and opportunities like education.
