What is Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?


AHA Foundation accepts gifts through Donor Advised Funds. You may establish a Donor Advised Fund account directly with a sponsoring non-profit organization, community foundation, or financial institution. Contributions into the fund receive an immediate tax deduction and most donor advised funds accept cash equivalents, securities, and other assets. You can recommend how much, and how often you want to distribute money from your fund to AHA Foundation or other charities.

If you would like to make a donation through your own donor advised fund and have additional questions, please contact us here. You may also make a legacy gift by listing AHA Foundation as a charitable beneficiary of your existing donor advised fund.

DAF gifts play a critical role in securing AHA Foundation’s financial stability. They help us stay focused on what matters most: fighting to strengthen or pass laws, runing trainings for frontline professionals and providing direct help to protect girls and women from female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage and other dangerous traditional practices.

How to set up a Donor Advised Fund?


To set up a donor advised fund, contact your financial/ legal advisor, or representative from a financial company that operates a DAF program, such as Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab Charitable, or a representative at a community sponsoring organization for detailed information on donor advised funds.

When choosing to give a grant to AHA Foundation, please use AHA Foundation's full legal name, AHA Foundation Inc. or employer identification number (EIN) 33-1185369 when searching a DAF charity database.
