A child bride taken to Bangladesh and forced into marriage at 15 says August is the ‘hot month’ for parents to trick their daughters into such arrangements.

Rubie Marie – not her real name – was wed to a man twice her age when she was just a teenager, and when she managed to escape she then found herself in the arms of an abusive man.

She is now living in Birmingham with her 17-year-old daughter by the husband she was forced to marry, and a son, 15, from her violent relationship that followed.
