Afghan First Lady Rula Ghani on Women’s Rights

The Afghan First Lady Rula Ghani spoke with Thomas L. Friedman at the Women in the World Summit in New York about the state of women’s rights in Afghanistan. Ghani rejected the conception of Afghan women as victims and referred to the response to the mob killing of Farkhunda Malikzada last year. Ghani also spoke about her husband’s efforts to improve the lives of women in Afghanistan.
