Child Marriages in Pakistan

In the Pakistani district of Thar, child brides are very common. Girls are often married at 9 and it is not rare for grooms to be as young as 10. The situation in Thar is indicative of a larger trend in Pakistan; a UNICEF report claimed 70 percent of girls in Pakistan were married before the age of 16.
