One survivor of forced marriage, who was ultimately able to escape from India back to London, writes a letter to the mother who forced her. She poignantly describes the pain and tribulations she had to contend with after her forced marriage, including post-traumatic stress disorder. She asks her mother why their community’s perceptions of honor mattered more than her happiness and well-being.
